Major Arcana

11 November - 22 December 2026

Major Arcana brings together 22 contemporary artists, each invited to interpret one of the 22 cards of tarot's Major Arcana. Representing fundamental experiences and forces that shape human life, from love and ambition to uncertainty, mortality, and transformation, these archetypes have been reimagined by artists for centuries.

Drawing upon tarot's rich visual history, the exhibition explores how familiar symbols acquire new meanings through contemporary artistic practice. Working across painting, drawing, embroidery, and sculpture, the participating artists approach their assigned cards through their own visual languages, personal experiences, and conceptual concerns. Some embrace traditional iconography, while others depart from it entirely, revealing the enduring capacity of these archetypes to accommodate new and sometimes contradictory interpretations.
