Main Projects is pleased to present Signal Boost: New Voices from VCUarts MFA Program, the gallery’s second annual exhibition highlighting new voices from Virginia Commonwealth University’s School of the Arts. Featuring work by Hammet Reavis, Frances Adair Mckenzie, Clara DeWeese, Katy Layman, Phaedra Beauchamp,  Elizabeth Schweizer, and Megan Koeppel, the exhibition brings together sculpture, painting, photography, glass, and textiles that consider how images and objects are constructed, altered, and perceived. Across the works on view, tools become armatures, portraits become fragmented fields, glass holds light and duration, dyed textiles carry botanical and material histories, and painted spaces adopt the logic of games and screens. Together, the artists in Signal Boost reveal a generation of makers testing the surfaces, systems, and structures through which contemporary life comes into view.
