Fell Swoop explores transformation through material and form. An abstract avian body appears to pierce through itself in a gesture evoking the phrase “one fell swoop”—a single, decisive action that brings about sudden change. Created using coil-construction techniques, the sculpture’s surface has been glazed, fired, sandblasted, and layered with latex paint, then sanded to reveal the tactile rhythms of handbuilding. The result is a form that embodies both rupture and resolution in a single sweeping motion.
