Chastity Belt
Tori Mitchell is a Richmond, Virginia-based visual artist born in Mesa, Arizona. She received her BFA in Painting from Arizona State University in 2018 and her MFA from Virginia Commonwealth University’s Department of Painting and Printmaking in 2026. Influenced by lesbian and queer culture, medieval art, religious imagery, myth, and folklore, Mitchell reimagines art history through a lesbian gaze, constructing an alternative historical world defined by queer presence.
