Sarah Peters is known for her stylized bronze busts that merge ancient archetypes with contemporary psychology, exploring how sculpture has long been used to express power and belief. In Augur, she transforms the classical form into a contemporary oracle. The title refers to an ancient Roman priest who read signs in nature to understand the will of the gods. Peters reclaims that role for a modern context, reimagining prophecy through a female lens. Like Dalí’s divine figures, Augur reflects on the tension between power and devotion, inviting contemplation of how belief and authority are shaped through form.
