Kat Lyons’s paintings explore the entangled lives of humans, animals, and vegetation, revealing the emotional and spiritual dimensions of the natural world. In The Meadows Edge, a tree splits, revealing another just behind it—an image of fracture and unveiling rather than harmony. Each holds a nest and egg, fragile emblems of continuity amid rupture. Where Dalí used the body as landscape, Lyons uses landscape as body, translating psychological tension into the language of the natural world. Her soft, luminous palette and dreamlike stillness recall Dalí’s surreal atmospheres, but her focus is more intimate—grounded in cycles of growth, loss, and renewal rather than divine spectacle.
