Danielle Fretwell

In Revival, Danielle Fretwell reimagines a candelabra from page 240 of Les Dîners de Gala as a study in reflection and transformation. One panel captures the object’s crisp glow, while the other dissolves its image into a crimson veil, blurring the boundary between clarity and obscurity.
Balancing precision with abstraction, Fretwell transforms Dalí’s theatrical opulence into a quieter ritual of looking. The burning candles suggest devotion as much as decadence—ritual, artifice, and beauty held in delicate equilibrium.
